CURRICULUM VITAE
Carmen Galvez
Artistic Director and Producer
Hispanic Arts Society

Carmen Galvez started her involvement with the arts at a very young age as a performer and choreographer in Chile and later in Canada and has traveled extensively in North America and Europe as a perfomer. She was involved with the Winnipeg Folk Arts Council for from 1978-1981 and then moved to Calgary.
In Calgary she was the Program Director of Calgary Folk Arts Council, Canada Day Committee, and the Calgary Multicultural Centre between 1981 and 1991. She was also nominated to be part of the Calgary Community Board representing the Arts in 1999-2001. She was the Artistic Director for the Multicultural component of The One Year Count-down to the Olympics in 1987 as well as many events during the Winter Olympics in 1988, as well as numerous Multicultural Gala and Canada Day events. In 1987, she was one of the founders of the currently known, Hispanic Arts Society, which has successfully directed and produced the following productions listed here:
